NCT ‘Early Days’ course

Life with a new baby isn’t always easy. Most new parents feel unprepared and surprised by the experience. Meeting other parents in your area, making friends and sharing experiences can make all the difference. Discovering that the worries and feelings you have are also felt by others can be very reassuring.

Early Days courses give you the opportunity to discuss your thoughts, concerns and needs about being a new parent. I will listen to you and offer you the opportunity to share your ideas and experiences. I will also encourage others in the group to do the same, so that you can support each other as you learn more about your skills as a parent.

We will explore a range of approaches to important parenting issues, so that you gain the confidence to make the right decisions for you and your baby. I appreciate that all babies and their parents are different, so I will not give unnecessary advice, or talks on child development.  I will have up-to-date information available to help you decide what is best for you, your baby and your family.

Issues typically covered in ‘Early days’ courses include:

Each course is tailored to the needs of the individuals within each group, therefore time is spent in the first session setting the agenda for the remaining sessions.
